The partnership between avitea Industrieservice and HELLA sets new standards in the logistics sector. As a multi-service provider, avitea Industrieservice has developed numerous approaches to offer customized solutions for its customers. While for some customers individual logistics processes are separated from the overall process and taken over by avitea Industrieservice's experts, the company takes a holistic approach in its collaboration with HELLA. The logistics team has taken over the entire operational logistics of the four factories at the HELLA plant in Recklinghausen and brought them together in a central logistics center.
Comprehensive logistics processes at the avitea Industrieservice logistics center
The avitea Industrieservice logistics center handles all logistics processes for HELLA, both physically and via SAP. This includes the receipt of goods, the storage of supplied parts and materials, line feeding for production supply, the return from production, the re-storage of finished goods and the subsequent preparation for dispatch to over 200 unloading points throughout Europe. By constantly implementing innovative and efficient strategies, avitea Industrieservice has been able to demonstrably optimize its logistics processes. The 120 employees at the logistics center enable the processing of 50 trucks in incoming goods and 200 deliveries in outgoing goods per day. By implementing a number of effective strategies, avitea Industrieservice was able to significantly optimize the logistics process and increase efficiency.
Automation as the key to success
A key success factor in the collaboration between avitea Industrieservice and HELLA is the comprehensive automation of logistics processes. The heart of the automation lies in line feeding - the efficient supply of materials and components to the production lines. This involves the use of robots, which enable the precise provision of components within short time frames, avoid bottlenecks and increase productivity. The production halls are connected to the logistics center via a fully automated conveyor system. When an SAP call-off is initiated from production, materials are transported on trolleys via gondolas to the production halls and the goods are then delivered to the production lines.
Technical support and interaction with robots
Another key aspect of the collaboration: thanks to the close interaction with the robots used by HELLA, the avitea Industrieservice logistics team is able to offer not only operational but also technical solutions. For example, the employees in the logistics center provide level 1 to level 3 support for the maintenance and troubleshooting of the AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) and, in cooperation with the manufacturer, form the basis for efficient further development of the system. The avitea industrial service team, which has been specifically trained by the manufacturer, carries out minor repairs to the AGV and can thus ensure ongoing operation. This eliminates waiting times for customer service technicians.
